Chances are you’re familiar with the Amazon, the massive rain forest covering much of South America. Its plight has been well documented for several decades now – developers and farmers regularly wipe out large sections of this forest as they exploit its resources.

This activity has led to increased world attention on the area, which has often sought to preserve this ecosystem as well as its inhabitants.
