The Boreal Forest is becoming quite a movie star! Our favorite recent example is a song and music video about the Boreal Forest created by a group of Ontario 11th-graders for a science class. Check out George Woodhouse and the EcoGangstas performing their hit song, "Boreal Beat."

Recently, the Boreal Forest was featured as an evening news bulletin on London's ITV News. The bulletin explores the topic of Canada's Alberta Tar Sands.

The Boreal Forest was also the focus of a 2007 video created by noted journalist Gary Strieker for Assignment Earth. The video features the Mackenzie River Watershed, a pristine part of the Boreal under threat by the proposed Mackenzie Gas Pipeline, an 800-mile pipeline that will fuel the Alberta Tar Sands, Earth's dirtiest oil extraction project – also located in the Boreal Forest.
